This is the Ginger+White Tabby breedfile for Catz 5.

Place it in your Resource\catz directory, and you will then be
able to adopt some cats from it. For them to look right,
however, you will need to place the six .bmp bitmaps in a
subdirectory, off your game's Resource\catz directory, which
you must name gaw.

This is a file which has been sound-stripped to make the download small.

If you want your pets to have sounds, you will need the Tabby
sounds which should be available from the place from which you downloaded this file
or from my site. When you have downloaded the sounds, if you unzip them into
the game's main directory they should all go into the correct place.

If for some reason the unzipping process doesn't place them into the following
subdirectory which it should have created off your game's main directory:

\ptzfiles\cat\ta

then you will have to create that set of subdirectories yourself, using either
My Computer or Windows Explorer. Off the game's main directory (where the .exe
file is) create a directory and call it ptzfiles. Off that one, create another
and call it cat. Off that one, create another and call it ta. Place all the .wav
files and the tasnd.txt file in that "ta" directory. Your pets will talk then.

Enjoy!

NOTE: If you are importing Ginger+White Tabby petz from a
previous version of the game, you will be able to do so using
this breedfile. However, Petz 5 does not keep its bitmaps for
all breedz in quite the same place as in those earlier games.
This means that your pet will import but will have lost its
skin markings. The only way to fix this is to edit the
pet itself; I've made this as simple as possible, but
make sure that you make a copy of your pet somewhere
safe first!! I've made it so that you don't need to
bother about the checksum, but unless someone makes a
program to edit petfiles you will need to copy and paste
some text.

Okay, this is what you must do:

Open your pet into a hex editor, or get a friend who
knows how to use a hex editor to do so for you.
Now find the first instance of the words Texture List

Below that you will see some or all of these lines of text:

\ptzfiles\cat\ta\stripg3.bmp
\ptzfiles\cat\ta\stripg14.bmp
\ptzfiles\cat\ta\stripg16.bmp
\ptzfiles\cat\ta\stripg17.bmp
\ptzfiles\cat\ta\stripg11.bmp
\ptzfiles\cat\ta\stripg13.bmp

You need to replace each instance of

\ptzfiles\cat\ta\stripg
to
\resource\catz\gaw\srip

So, change
\ptzfiles\cat\ta\stripg3.bmp
to
\resource\catz\gaw\srip3.bmp
change
\ptzfiles\cat\ta\stripg14.bmp
to
\resource\catz\gaw\srip14.bmp
etc.

Save. You only need to do this once. Your pet should
now come out looking as it always did, provided that you put
the bmp files in that directory called gaw.

And that's it!
