This is a crazy, half-baked way of getting to play a little more of the babyz game than
is possible with the Babyz Player. It is not the full game -- most sounds and many
clothes, toyz etc are simply not available, but if you haven't got the game and cannot
find it anywhere it is a reasonable workaround, and you can download various extra items
from creative babyz fan sites to use with it.

NOTE: Some of the required zips or directories contain .DLL files. Windows,
by default, has files of this type "hidden" -- presumably as some kind of safety
feature, but in your case you need to see them. So if you cannot see them on your
machine, open My Computer or Windows Explorer, choose View and Options, and then
under View make sure that "Show all files" is ticked. While you're about it,
un-tick "Hide MS-DOS file extensions", because that's a nuisance too.

Most of what you need is already available quite legitimately on the Internet...
To make this work, you need to download a bunch of things and put them together.

You need, first of all, to download and install the Babyz player from
http://www.babyz.net/player.html or ftp://ftp.ubisoft.com/games/babyz/demo/

Now decide where on your hard drives you want your babyz game to be. Use Windows
Explorer or My Computer to make a directory there; I'd call it Babyz, but you
can call it whatever you wish. So, you have an empty directory now called
something like

D:\Babyz

Place into that directory the files which are in the zipfile with this Readme.
(I shall assume from now on for the purposes of this readme that D:\Babyz is the
directory you chose)

Right, now use Windows Explorer or My Computer to find your browser's "Plugins"
directory. In there you should find npBabyz.dll and a subdirectory called
Resource. Copy that Resource directory to your new D:\Babyz directory.

Now download my modified Babyz .exe and install it into D:\Babyz.

Download and install all seven of my Babyz Playscene Easy-edit kits.
Follow the instructions carefully; you will of course have to make the directory:

D:\Babyz\Resource\Area

Download my "Backup copy of un-edited BabyzRez.dll", intended to help hexers who
are in difficulty, and unpack it into

D:\Babyz\Resource\

Okay, we're nearly cookin' here. Just a few toyz etc to be installed. First off
download and install these, available from my site:

Frog Chest easy-edit kit (you only need the first zipfile)
High chair
Record and Player
Bunny

And finally, download my Babyz Fooler Toyz zipfile and unpack it into your game's
Toyz directory.

Ta-da! You can now double-click on the Babyz.exe and the game will open into
the adopt-a-baby screen. You can get codes from various sites for adopting new
babyz. If you don't want to do that and you want to skip the baby-adoption
screen, download instead a baby from a site such as mine and unpack it into
a directory which you will need to create:

D:\Babyz\Adopted Babyz

Enjoy!

P.S. every so often the game will ask for the CD. It's nothing to do with the
cobbled-together nature of this "fooler"; the game does that now and then, and you
can either re-set the game by holding down Ctrl+Shift when you open the game, or
use my little "Babyz CD fix" which I've been using for years. I hate having to
put game CDs in when I play :-)
